Warranty & Service Terms
Gunatit Infotech • Winnipeg, Manitoba
Important: These terms explain service expectations and do not waive any consumer right that cannot legally be waived under Manitoba law.
1. Estimates, Diagnostics & Authorization
- Computer/laptop diagnostic fee: $39. The diagnostic fee is waived when the customer approves and proceeds with the recommended repair, unless otherwise stated before service begins.
- No repair, paid upgrade, replacement part, or additional charge will be performed without customer authorization.
- Quotes are based on the condition and information available at the time. Additional faults or required parts may require a revised quote and customer approval.
2. Labour Warranty
- Gunatit Infotech provides a 30-day limited labour warranty on the specific repair or installation work performed.
- If the same issue is caused by workmanship from the original service and is reported within the warranty period, Gunatit Infotech will re-check and, where appropriate, correct the workmanship without an additional labour charge.
- The labour warranty does not cover unrelated faults, new failures, accidental/liquid damage, malware reinfection, misuse, unauthorized modification, power/surge damage, normal wear, or third-party products/services.
3. Parts & Replacement Components
- New parts supplied by Gunatit Infotech are covered by any applicable manufacturer, distributor, or supplier warranty, together with rights provided by law.
- Used, refurbished, or customer-supplied parts will be identified where applicable.
- Customer-supplied parts are installed at the customer's risk; Gunatit Infotech does not provide a parts warranty on items it did not sell, except for workmanship of the installation itself.
4. Data, Backup & Privacy
- Customers should maintain a current backup of important data before repair, upgrade, operating-system work, malware removal, storage replacement, or data-transfer services.
- Gunatit Infotech will use reasonable care when handling devices and data; however, pre-existing faults may place data at risk.
- Unless specifically purchased as a backup or recovery service, routine repair service does not include a guarantee that customer data can be preserved or recovered.
- Passwords/PINs should only be provided when required for authorized testing and should be changed after service if desired.
5. Data Recovery
- Data recovery is best-effort only. No recovery percentage or specific file can be guaranteed unless expressly confirmed in writing.
- Any third-party or specialist recovery cost will be disclosed for approval before proceeding.
6. Customer Responsibilities
- The customer confirms they own the device/equipment or have authority to request service.
- The customer should disclose known damage, liquid exposure, previous repair attempts, important data requirements, and access restrictions that may affect the work.
7. CCTV, Networking & On-Site Services
- “From” pricing may apply because final labour depends on access, cable routes, building construction, height, drilling, power availability, equipment compatibility, and site conditions.
- The customer is responsible for identifying building restrictions, concealed hazards, landlord/condo permissions, or areas where drilling/cabling is not permitted.
- Changes to the agreed scope will be discussed and approved before additional chargeable work is performed.
8. Payment
- Payment is due when service is completed, the device is ready for pickup, or according to the approved quote/invoice terms.
- Accepted methods may include cash, e-Transfer, card, or another agreed method.
- Special-order parts, software licences, equipment, or larger projects may require a deposit before ordering or scheduling.
- Applicable taxes will be charged when legally required.
9. Pickup, Storage & Unclaimed Equipment
- Customers should collect repaired equipment promptly after being notified that it is ready.
- Where a storage charge may apply, the customer will be informed.
- Any treatment of unclaimed equipment will be handled only as permitted by applicable law.
10. Cancellations & Special-Order Parts
- Work not yet performed may be cancelled, subject to completed diagnostic work and any disclosed non-refundable special-order cost.
- Special-order, activated, licensed, custom-configured, or non-returnable items may not be refundable where the supplier does not accept a return and this was disclosed before purchase.
11. Service Records & Communication
- Gunatit Infotech may keep electronic records of jobs, estimates, approvals, invoices, payments, parts, and technician notes.
- Customer approval may be documented by signature, email, text, WhatsApp, online approval, or another clear written/electronic method.
12. Consumer Rights
- Services are intended to be performed in a skillful and workmanlike manner.
- No provision of these terms is intended to waive, restrict, or exclude a right or remedy that cannot legally be waived under Manitoba law.
- If any term conflicts with mandatory law, the mandatory law applies and the remaining terms continue to the extent permitted.
